Khloé Kardashian, known for her advocacy and strong opinions, came to the defense of R&B icon Babyface after a red carpet incident at the 2025 Grammys. During the event, reporters Krysta Fauria and Leslie Ambriz of the Associated Press were criticized for abruptly cutting off Babyface’s interview to speak with singer Chappell Roan.
Sharing her thoughts on social media, Kardashian expressed her displeasure with how Babyface was treated. “This is so disrespectful how Babyface was treated in this interview,” she wrote on X, posting a clip of the incident. “Babyface has had such a significant impact on the music industry in so many ways. It’s maddening to see a LEGEND not get the respect and attention they deserve. He is a pioneer and deserves so much better than this.”
Babyface, a legendary figure with decades of influence as a songwriter, producer, and performer, has shaped the sound of various generations. Kardashian emphasized his importance in the industry, adding, “With decades of groundbreaking work, he’s shaped the sound of multiple generations. I love you, Babyface.”
Kardashian also praised Babyface’s dignified response to the situation, calling him “a class act” in her post. She went on to stress the importance of treating everyone with respect, regardless of their status or the moment’s circumstances: “Big or small, old or new, you don’t treat people like this. At least not in my eyes. There’s a way to handle this and this was wrong in my opinion.”
Following the incident, both reporters offered apologies during the livestream, and the Associated Press issued a formal public apology the next morning. “We are deeply sorry for cutting our interview with Babyface short on our YouTube livestream of the Grammys red carpet,” the statement read. “We have apologized to him directly.”
